Stockholm Major seeding says NiP is best CSGO team in the world

The seeds for the $2 million Stockholm Major include some scorching hot takes. Ninjas in Pyjamas is the best team in the world, according to the seeding for the upcoming CSGO major.

PGL Major Stockholm ranks NiP as the top team in the world. The seeding is full of strange choices including FURIA in second and FaZe Clan as the very last seed. This odd seeding is a result of Valve directly using the Regional Major Rankings with no consideration for other events.

The Stockholm Major seeds are based on the Regional Major Rankings circuit taken from the whole year. Ninjas in Pyjamas took first in Europe, so the squad gets the top seed. FURIA got first in the North America RMR, which earns second. Natus Vincere got first in the CIS circuit, which Valve considers less competitive than North America.

While considered a strong team, Ninjas in Pyjamas is certainly a hot take for the best CSGO team in the world. Natus Vincere is on a massive hot streak in 2021. The Eastern European team has lost just four matches in the past four months, three of which were to Gambit Esports. In fact, NiP hasn’t taken a match off Na’Vi in almost 14 months.

Natus Vincere received 6,024 points from RMR events throughout 2021. The Ninjas earned 3,988.

How do seeds work at the Stockholm Major?

The CSGO Stockholm Major is split into three stages each with its own seeds. Each team has a seed for the stage they start in, which can change as the tournament progresses.

For example, Team Spirit is the top seed in the Challengers stage. If the team advances, Spirit’s Legends stage seed will depend on its Challenger stage record. The teams that directly qualified to the Challengers phase will occupy the top seeding slots. The final Champions stage will have entirely new seeding based on the team’s performance in the previous phase.

With $2 million in prizes on the line, the seeding for the Stockholm Major is very important. Ninjas in Pyjamas will now theoretically have the easiest path through the Legends stage. The Swedish side, bolstered by Danish AWPer Nicolai “dev1ce” Reedtz, will have more chances to play against the lowest-seeded teams of the Legends stage.

Who is the best CSGO team in the world?

Most fans consider Natus Vincere to be the best CSGO team in the world. The CIS squad’s star Oleksandr “s1mple” Kostyliev is commonly held to be the single best CSGO player, arguably even the greatest of all time.

The “best team” is usually a hot topic among the CSGO community, but it’s hard to deny Na’Vi. With eight 2021 championships, the Eastern Europe juggernaut has clearly risen to the top. The squad did have a few bad finishes in early 2021, but the rest of the year has seen win after win. Despite a few losses to Gambit, Natus Vincere is the popular favorite to win the Stockholm Major starting October 26.

While strong, the team isn’t quite unbeatable. Regional rival Gambit Esports defeated Na’Vi 2-0 to win IEM Fall early in October. Team Vitality, Ninjas in Pyjamas, and G2 Esports are generally considered to be right below Na’Vi and Gambit on the ladder. French side Team Vitality has also put up a solid fight against Na’Vi at multiple events. Those team’s rivalry will come to a climax at the $2 million PGL Major Stockholm.
