The fourth week of the 2021 LPL Spring Split will have a match between RNG and Victory Five on the menu, with both fighting to stay at the top of the LPL leaderboard.

Both RNG and V5 have come off to a great start to the LPL season, fighting for a top spot in the world’s most competitive league. So far, RNG is sitting with a perfect 3-0 record. V5 has also come off to a great start despite losing its first match of the season to Team WE. Since that loss, V5 has built up a three-match winning streak and is looking like a real dark horse this split.

RNG was really been tested against Suning back in week two. The newly updated RNG squad took down the 2020 World Championship finalists in three games and has since not looked back. Facing off against V5 could be the hardest series so far for RNG, and Li “Xiaohu” Yuan-Hao and the rest of the squad have to be on point.

For this season, RNG has brought in former eStar jungler Yan “Wei” Yan-Wei to control the early game. The young jungler has performed very well so far and looks to be just what RNG needed. Besides changes in the jungle, Xiaohu has swapped to the top lane after over five years in the mid lane for the organization. The role swap had a lot of fans worried, but so far Xiaohu is looking consistent and still able to lead the team.

V5 is a very different team that relies on young talent and aggressive plays. V5 has brought in Wei “Weiwei” Bo-Han for the jungle and Xie “LANGX” Zhen-Ying up top, which has brought the team a lot of new individual skill to match with the best squads in the league. So far, the new top side of the map has been working out for V5 while the rest of the squad has been consistent.

To take down RNG, V5 will have to bring its best game and stay focused. RNG will likely try to play a controlled style that will throw off V5’s aggression. If RNG gets to play on its own terms, V5 will have a hard time punching through. V5 will therefore have to bring its aggression to the table and try to create some chaos. In a chaotic game, V5’s individual skill will likely shine through and could be enough to take the win.

RNG expected to take down Victory Five in LPL

Despite both teams performing well in the LPL so far, RNG is the obvious favorite based on experience and consistency. According to the bookmakers, RNG is indeed the favorite in this matchup, but not by a big margin. V5 is still in a position where an upset seems realistic, so everything will come down to the execution of each team’s play style.

A win for RNG will give a solid odds of 1.51, while a bet on the underdogs from V5 gives odds 2.39

The match between RNG and V5 kicks off on January 26.
