The recommended item page in the in-game shop will get a complete remake in both looks and functionality. The recommended page will from the preseason recommend items based on data.Â
The shop will load up all the items that a player’s champion could build, based on what the player has already purchased. This means that the shop will always try to predict what the player will build next. The predictions will also be based on current opponents.Â
Riot has said that it will be inputting builds into the system themselves when the system initially hits the Public Beta Environment (PBE). But over time, the system will function on its own based on real player data.Â
The all item page will also get a new set of features for players who like to create builds by themselves.Â
A series of tabs will be implemented to the item page that lets players filter items by classes. Players will also be able to use the new popular filter, which uses data from the recommendation system. The filter will allow players to see what the most popular items are for their respective champion. Even when turned off, players will still see popular items indicated by a star.Â
Items will now also be sorted by rarity instead of by price. This means that all starting items will be placed together. The same goes for legendary items, mythic items, and so on.Â
Last but not least, a new quick-buy option will be introduced. The quick-buy option will appear as a sidebar, recommending items such as potions, wards, boots, to make sure that players won’t forget to buy it.Â
Item icons will also get a big overhaul, with the goal to fully update all icons to a more modern style. Some icons will only be updated slightly, while others will get a completely new look.Â
According to Riot, they will focus on the following when updating icons:Â

The preseason changes are expected to hit the PBE within two weeks if everything goes as planned.Â
