Cloud9’s Joseph “Mango” Marquez has been handed a seven-day suspension from Twitch after he seemingly passed out on stream from too much alcohol.

The professional Super Smash Bros Melee player was celebrating the Philadelphia Eagles’ playoff victory over the Chicago Bears. Mango is known for his Eagles fandom, and this isn’t the first time he’s celebrated a victory by the team on his stream.

Mango was clearly thrilled with the defending Super Bowl champions’ performance and began drinking on stream. After imbibing a few, Mango appeared to pass out on the floor and wasn’t seen on camera again for about three minutes.

After briefly reappearing, Mango ended the stream. A few hours later he received an email from Twitch notifying him of his seven-day ban from the platform for “dangerous consumption of drugs or alcohol.”

While many of his fans were concerned about his welfare when he collapsed, Mango tells a different story on Twitter.

“For the record.. I didn’t pass out on stream.. I jokingly fell over to be funny because I wanted to take a break.. Went downstairs to talk to my gf and came back and ended my stream,” Mango said.

Inconsistency in punishments from Twitch has become a hot topic around the popular streaming platform, with Twitch being accused of turning a blind eye to their highest earning streamers while heavily policing smaller streamers.

Twitch streamer Luke “MrDeadMoth” Munday was temporarily banned on Twitch for alleged domestic violence on stream, but was able to stream less than a month later. On January 4, Twitch extended the ban following a community uproar.

Mango’s seven-day ban will lift just in team for the Eagles’ next playoff game.
