Reading time: 3 min

In Pokemon Scarlet & Violet The Teal Mask DLC, completing the Kitakami Pokedex offers a fulfilling experience for dedicated trainers. The region, introduced in this expansion, is home to 200 unique Pokemon, including new evolution lines and Legendaries. Completing this Pokedex requires significant time and effort, as players must track down both familiar faces and version-exclusive Pokemon. Yet, the rewards for this accomplishment make the challenge worth undertaking.

Special Rewards for completing the Kitakami Pokedex

Once the Kitakami Pokedex is completed, players can visit Jacq, the in-game biology teacher, for a special reward. Trainers can find him in the eastern part of Mossui Town, near the bridge, under a tree. Upon speaking to Jacq, he congratulates the trainer and provides a certificate along with a unique item: the Glimmering Charm. This charm serves a significant purpose in the game’s late stages, especially for trainers keen on enhancing their Pokemon teams.

The Glimmering Charm, acquired after completing Kitakami Pokedex, grants an increased reward of Tera Shards upon the completion of Tera Raid Battles. These shards are used to change a Pokemon’s Tera Type at the Treasure Eatery in Medali, allowing trainers to further customize their battle strategies. The number of Tera Shards awarded depends on the star rating of the Raid Battle. The number of shards depending on the star rating are as follows:

  • 3-star: 2 shards
  • 4-star: 5 shards
  • 5-star: 10 shards
  • 6-star: 12 shards

This makes the Glimmering Charm especially valuable for those who frequently engage in Tera Raid Battles and want to optimize their teams by changing Tera Types. However, it’s important to note that the charm does not apply to 1-star, 2-star, or 7-star Raid Battles.

Additional rewards along the way

Beyond the Glimmering Charm, completing the Kitakami Pokedex comes with several rewards as trainers hit certain milestones. These rewards include items such as Poke Balls, evolution items, and even rare objects like a Moon Ball, given upon registering all 200 Pokemon. Some of the additional rewards are as follows:

  • 90 Pokemon: PP Up x1
  • 100 Pokemon: Bottle Cap x10
  • 150 Pokemon: Comet Shard x3
  • 200 Pokemon: Moon Ball x1

Trainers are also treated to a special quest once 150 Pokemon are registered in the Kitakami Pokedex. This quest involves traveling with Perrin, a Pokemon photographer, to capture a Kitakami-exclusive Pokémon, Bloodmoon Ursaluna (#196). Upon completion of this quest, players are rewarded with a Choice Scarf and a level 15 Hisuian Growlithe, adding further value to their effort.

In Pokemon Scarlet & Violet The Teal Mask DLC, completing the Kitakami Pokedex is undoubtedly a time-consuming endeavor. Yet, it comes with rewards that enhance the gameplay experience for dedicated players. From the valuable Glimmering Charm to rare items that can assist in perfecting teams, trainers are encouraged to catch them all. For those passionate about exploring every corner of the Pokemon world, the rewards offered in the Kitakami region make the challenge well worth the effort.
