NOOB® Energy is doing energy drinks differently, and it works

There are a whole lot of energy drinks out there to the point where almost all of them blend together.

A relative newcomer in NOOB® Energy stands apart, though. The drink has a unique look, taste, and brand that creates some separation in the crowded energy drink field.

One of the biggest things that sets apart NOOB® Energy from the rest of the energy drink field is the Clutchin’ Kiwi flavor. As a regular consumer of energy drinks, it sometimes gets a bit awkward finding unique flavors. For the most part, there are three archetypes of energy drink flavor in fruity, coffee, and 100% chemical.

NOOB® Energy’s Citrus Burst flavor is a solid option that fits into the first category, but Clutchin’ Kiwi goes in a bit of a different direction by being fruity but embracing sourness.

Though there’s no shortage of sour drinks out there, this hasn’t really made its way to the energy drink market in any significant way. Clutchin’ Kiwi a lemonade-like tartness and sourness to it that sets it apart from the pack.

NOOB® Energy also has a uniquely low calorie count. Each 12-ounce can has just 10 calories and has no sugar, making it a bit less concerning for anyone concerned about their waistline or teeth.

As an extra touch, NOOB® Energy has a different set of nutritional facts that actually discloses its ingredients and how much of each ingredient is actually in the can. This is quite refreshing in the realm of energy drinks, where ingredient lists basically extend off the end of the can and even then, things are kept vague to the point where the likes of Monster say that the active ingredient is “ENERGY.” The drink has two grams of nootropics, meant to enhance focus, endurance, alertness, and general mood. This is a big part of what separates NOOB® Energy from other energy drinks and supplements in the gaming space.

Of course, the low calorie count is noticeable in the flavor department. That’s not necessarily a bad thing for many people, as some of the most popular energy drink flavors on the market are low calorie as well. But this may or may not end up scratching the itch for people that want a sugar bomb to go alongside their energy rush, though. Just keep in mind that indulging in that desire for sugar may also result in a crash, something NOOB® Energy aims to avoid.

Part of NOOB® Energy’s pitch is that it says it’s “formulated to create a synergistic effect to enhance your gaming, studying, or working experience.” The impact of NOOB® Energy will likely vary from person from person, and depending on what they’re getting amped up for.

We tried it with a multiplayer first-person shooter and it did seem to add an extra layer of focus to play. Mileage will almost certainly vary, but there does seem to be something there.

All in all, NOOB® Energy is a solid energy drink option for anyone looking for a low-calorie boost and some key ingredients that are meant to stimulate your brain. It has a distinct flavor unlike anything else on the market and hits differently than other energy drinks.

We spoke with Matt Smoyak and Jonathan Corallo, the founders behind NOOB® Energy, on the new drinks and what sets them apart from the competition.

What inspired the creation of NOOB® Energy?

Jonathan Corallo: Despite the recent explosion in revenue generated by esports and athlete performance products, there remains a deficit in supply to satisfy the needs of a hyper-growth consumer demand. Energy drinks and performance-based supplements geared towards the gaming community have only inundated the market with lower-calorie supplemental options. This take leaves both professional and casual gamers without a healthier edge to performance.

Video games can be the perfect way to escape reality for a little while. Their ability to provide a pleasurable experience, motivation, and entertainment is unmatched. Coming into the energy drink category we had a strong desire to create a product that makes that experience last just a little bit longer, and quite frankly we think we’ve nailed it.

Our approach was simple, community first, product second. Our goal is to provide the gaming community with an authentic, performance-driven approach while cultivating and supporting the community behind it. A product that not only speaks to gamers, but stands by what it says it’s going to do. NOOB®® products create healthy lifestyle choices for gamers; fostering an equal competitive gaming environment and cultivating amicable experiences. We are all NOOB®s.

What makes NOOB® Energy different from other energy drinks?

Matt Smoyak: When creating NOOB® Energy, our main focus was making sure we formulated a healthy, yet effective ingredient profile specifically for gamers and those who primarily are looking for an increase in brain function. We have crafted a superior formula in every category when it comes to our marketed use and our products showcase that by featuring a 100% fully transparent label. You know exactly what you’re getting in each and every can something a lot of brands in this space tend not to do. Each can contains over 2 grams of brain-boosting ingredients, only 10 calories, sugar-free, gluten-free, soy-free, and is vegan-friendly.

Anything you can share on future flavors?

Jonathan Corallo: Let’s just say, we have our hands full. Follow us on Instagram to stay in the loop on flavor activations and future launches. Insiders can join our Discord, as we tend to let some things slip through the cracks here!

Where is NOOB® Energy being sold today?

Matt Smoyak: NOOB® Energy is currently in select stores nationwide, but the easiest place to find it would be on our website at NOOBenergy.com.

What are some of your favorite game titles?

Jonathan Corallo: Ever? That’s tough. All time includes Halo, Call of Duty Modern Warfare, WoW, Fallout, Skyrim, Skate, Gunbound, and Maplestory to name a few. Lately we’ve had these games Warzone, Apex Legends, Rocket League, Valorant, Valheim, and World of Warcraft: Shadowlands.
