It has recently been discovered that Akshan is able to use stasis through Zhonya’s Hourglass or Stopwatch during his Heroic Swing (E).Â
Players keep discovering new combos and interactions for new champion Akshan, and the most recent one is both fun and useful. In a recent video by Vandiril, it was discovered that Akshan can go into stasis during the cast of Heroic Swing. While in stasis, Akshan will continue to dish out damage from the ability despite being untargetable. This combo might seem minor, but could potentially be very useful for Akshan players in the future. Â
The combo itself is pretty easy to pull off since Akshan players will just have to press the stasis active shortly after casting Heroic Swing. By doing this, Akshan will continue his swing while firing out bullets to enemies nearby. If timed correctly, Akshan can pop out of stasis after the duration of Heroic Swing is over. This would let him swing while untargetable and not put him in any danger after landing.Â
Since Akshan is an attack-damage-based champion, it seems highly unlikely that it will ever be worth buying a Zhonya’s Hourglass. Instead, it might become common practice to run the Inspiration rune tree to get a free Stopwatch through Perfect Timing. This would give Akshan a valuable defensive item every game, which could open up new combo opportunities.Â
Another interaction with Heroic Swing that was discovered is an extension of its range. According to Vadiril’s video, Akshan can cast Heroic Swing on some terrain and follow it up by placing a ward behind him. This will essentially extend the range of the swing and give a pretty big advantage.Â
While this little trick seems very useful, it’s likely a bug that Riot hasn’t discovered yet. If it is a bug, then it will likely be removed before Akshan is released on the live servers. Â
As Akshan keeps being tested on the Public Beta Environment (PBE), players are waiting eagerly to try him out on the live server. Luckily, the Sentinel Rogue will arrive shortly during patch 11.15. The patch is scheduled to go live on Wednesday, July 21, with Akshan likely following a couple of days after.Â
