Leaks hint new K/DA songs Gold and GAME/OVER arriving in November
Leaks hint new K/DA songs Gold and GAME/OVER arriving in November
Recent leaks suggest that new songs may be coming from fictional K-pop group K/DA.
The K/DA Genius page was recently updated to include two new singles, titled “Gold” and “GAME/OVER.” It is unclear whether this was an intentional leak or if this was made in error. The posting remained on Genius for two days before being taken down. Riot Games has not issued a statement on the subject.
Neither song had any lyrics posted. Both had a November 3 release date, which is the anniversary of when the group’s wildly popular debut single “POP/STARS” dropped.
This is the first hint of a new K/DA project and fans are quite excited over it.
New K/DA song would likely be a smash hit
K/DA features the musical talents of American singers Madison Beer and Jaira Burns, as well as Soyeon and Miyeon of K-pop girl group (G)I-dle. The band’s debut single POP/STARS became an overnight sensation and hit the top spot on Billboard’s US World Digital Songs chart.
An animated music video of POP/STARS was released on YouTube alongside the group’s debut with the vocalists portrayed by League champions Evelynn, Kai’sa, Akali, and Ahri. Both the song and the video went viral, with POP/STARS currently boasting over 250 million views. Alongside that mainstream success, the K/DA skins based on the music video were a smash hit in the game.
Riot milked the success of POP/STARS thoroughly, highlighted by an augmented reality performance of the song at the 2018 League of Legends World Championship that included both the champions and their real-life counterparts.
Things went silent from there, but hints of a return started a few weeks back with the K/DA version of Akali making multiple augmented reality appearances in the final stages of the LPL season.
There is no official word but fans excited over the news ought to tune in for the 2019 LoL World Championship, and circle November 3 on their calendars.
