How to watch the Transformers movies in order
Transformers is one of the most popular movie franchises in the world, earning an accumulated $4.8 billion in the box office. A new installment in the series is coming out later this year, and if you are trying to catch up, you might want to watch the Transformers movies in order.
When it comes to long franchises like Transformers or even the Marvel Cinematic Universe, there are two schools of thought. You can watch the movie in the order they came out, or you can watch them in chronological order.
Transformers has a total of six movies at the moment. The seventh movie in the series, Transformers: Rise of the Beasts, is coming out on June 9. In 2024, an eight movie will be hitting the theaters, Transformers One.
Transformers movies in order
The first way to watch the movie is in the order they came out. Transformers has five movies in the core series, all directed by Michael Bay, and a spinoff directed by Travis Knight, who is better known for his work in animated movies.
The first order in which to watch the Transformer movies is:
2007 – Transformers
2009 – Transformers: Revenge of the Fallen
2011 – Transformers: Dark of the Moon
2014 – Transformers: Age of Extinction
2017 – Transformers: The Last Knight
2018 – Bumblebee
2023 – Transformers: Rise of the Beasts
2024 – Transformers One
The second order is chronological, based on the time period where the movies take place:
- Bumblebee – This is a stand-alone movie taking place in the 80s.
- Transformers: Rise of the Beasts – It is the sequel to Bumblebee
- Transformers: Revenge of the Fallen
- Transformers: Dark of the Moon
- Transformers: Age of Extinction
- Transformers: The Last Knight
At this moment, there isn’t much information available about Transformers One.
Hardcore fans might choose a third way to enjoy the films. This is a more complicated system that involves picking parts of each movie. For example, there are parts of Transformers: Age of Extinction that happen during the age of dinosaurs.
The Transformer movies can be watched on Prime Video, Itunes, and Paramount+.
