WWE 2K22 has a pretty big roster of wrestlers, but some of them aren’t available from the start and are instead unlockable either by playing the game or purchasing them with in-game currency.

Unlockable characters are a tradition in WWE games, and the most recent installment is no different. Dozens of wrestlers are unlockable only by completing matches in different modes or earning in-game currency to purchase them through the store.

That’s still the case here. More than 50 playable characters including both wrestlers and alternate versions of wrestlers are unlockable in WWE 2K22. Here are the different wrestlers that players have to earn in the game.

Are there hidden characters in WWE 2K22?

In total, there are 58 unlockable wrestlers in WWE 2K22. These 58 wrestlers can be divided up into two groups.

The first group is obtained by playing WWE 2K Showcase Mode, which follows the career of Rey Mysterio. Many of these are alternate versions of wrestlers that are available in the roster at the start, with most of those being throwback versions of Rey Mysterio.

The other group is purchased for 1,000 VC each. VC is an in-game currency obtained by playing matches, going through MyRiSE mode, or forking over real currency in microtransactions.

Is Shawn Michaels in WWE 2K22

Shawn Micheals is in WWE 2K22, but he’s one of the more notable names hidden behind the game’s Showcase Mode. This means that if you want to play as Shawn Michaels in WWE 2K22, you’ll need to play the Showcase Mode at least up to the point of Rey Mysterio’s match with Shawn Michaels. Completing this match will unlock Shawn Michaels for use in the rest of the game.

Here’s the list of WWE 2K22 wrestlers that are unlockable through Showcase Mode, and the order in which they are unlocked:

  1. Rey Mysterio Jr.
  2. Eddie Guerrero ‘97
  3. Rey Mysterio ‘05

There is also a list of wrestlers obtained with VC. There are 40 in total, with almost all of them available for 1,000 VC apiece. There are three manager characters that are available for 300 VC, including Bobby “The Brain” Heenan and alternate versions of both Vince McMahon and Stephanie McMahon. How to get VC in WWE 2K22

VC can be obtained by playing exhibition matches or MyRISE mode in WWE 2K22. Players can also obtain VC via microtransactions.

The easiest way to obtain currency is by playing exhibition matches at maximum difficulty. Though this might sound challenging, players can get a major advantage by simply wrestling as Roman Reigns or Brock Lesnar against lower-rated wrestlers like Ariya Daivari and Tucker.
