When a player purchases a video game, they know how many hours it could take them to finish it. Online gaming has no end, so players that choose these types of games don’t know for just how long they’ll be in the queue.
Some single-player games might seem like bigger investments at first. The Witcher 3: Wild Hunt can stretch up to 100 hours long. According to some accounts, the gameplay time can go up to 200 hours if players want to explore every single detail of the game. In comparison, a game of League of Legends lasts, on average, under 30 minutes. But over time, the number of games played can really add up.
League of Legends doesn’t provide exact data on the number of games played or the hours spent on the game. Luckily for us, sites like wol.gg show exactly how many hours each player has spent on the game. WOL, which stands for Wasted on LoL, is a free service available in every region.
To know how many hours have you spent in League of Legends, go to the website, pick your region and search for your summoner’s name.
Right now, the record of the most time spent in League of Legends is held by Pensieve, an account on the Korean server. According to the site, this account has played for 14,403 hours, equal to 600 days’ time. The second highest is currently in Turkey with 12,319 hours, equal to 513 days. These are not casual players, as they have spent more time in the game than most pro players.
The player currently ranked number one in the Korean server is Team Dynamics’ support Kim “Kellin” Hyeong-gyu. Kellin has played for 2,458 hours, or 102 days. Global superstar and T1 mid laner Lee “Faker” Sang-hyeok, on his famous “hide on bush” account, has played for 2,467 hours, or 103 days. These are the times on the main accounts only, so either player could have spent even more time in-game than is listed here.
Sites like wol.gg can determine how many days each player has spent on the game. A casual player can spend between 20 and 100 days on the game, depending on how many games they play daily. Hardcore players can go well beyond those numbers, with the most time played on any one account clocking in at over 600 days.
League of Legends is a free-to-play game. Players can unlock new champions the more they play and earn different rewards through in-game events and by achieving certain milestones like reaching a new level on their account.
