How to download the Lies of P gameplay demo

Lies of P is grabbing gamers’ attention with a free gameplay demo, so here’s how to download it.

Lies of P didn’t get a ton of attention when it was first announced in 2021, but with a looming release date, developers Neowiz Games and Round8 Studio are catching eyes. The companies have released a free gameplay demo for the gothic Soulslike. The demo includes an early portion of the game that showcases its unique mechanics, including story-altering dialogue choices.

If you’re on the fence about picking up the new release, here’s how to download and play the demo for Lies of P before the September 18, 2023 release date.

How to download the Lies of P gameplay demo

If you’re on PC, the Lies of P gameplay demo is currently available through Steam. Simply navigate to the game’s Steam store page and click the green demo on the right side of the screen.

Xbox Series players can instead head to the official Xbox digital store and download the demo from there. Lies of P will also become available on Xbox Game Pass on day one of its release. If you enjoy the demo but are hesitant to spend the full $60, consider spending on a month of Xbox Game Pass and enjoy the game that way. 

PlayStation players unfortunately have no equivalent to Game Pass, but they can still download the Lies of P demo all the same. Go to the official PlayStation Store page for Lies of P and download the demo to sample the story-driven Soulslike.

Players who enjoy the preview can purchase Lies of P ahead of time to get the game as soon as it officially releases. The game offers a small pre-order bonus in the form of a cosmetic set for the main character. Instead of the gothic aesthetic, one costume goes for a more stereotypical puppet look possibly inspired by Disney’s take on Pinnochio. The deluxe edition includes a more typical red-and-black ensemble that better fits the setting. Preordering also the premium version of Lies of P also grants access to the game three days earlier, making it playable on September 16, 2023.
