One Piece Odyssey
is the most recent game based on the iconic anime. The game is part of the
25th anniversary
of the anime, and it takes players on new adventures. So far, the game has been praised by the fans and earned a 9/10 score on Steam. One of the activities that players get to explore is the wardrobes. Here is how to change outfits in One Piece Odyssey.
In most anime, characters rarely change out of their regular clothes. The only time you see characters with different clothing is during special events or when a new season of the show starts.
One Piece is no exception to this rule. Most characters have a specific and recognizable outfit. In Luffy’s case, it would be the red vest, jean shorts, flip flops, and the straw hat that lend its name to the crew at large. After the timeskip, Luffy changed the vest to a long-sleeve button-down that he wears open.
Nami
had, arguably, the most drastic outfit change after the timeskip. Nami went from wearing a white and blue T-shirt with a yellow skirt to wearing jeans and a bikini top.
The characters that you can modify in the game are Luffy, Zora, Nami, Usopp, Sanji, Chopper, and Robin. At the moment, each member of the Straw Hat crew has one available outfit. The outfit they currently wear in the anime.
How to change outfits in One Piece Odyssey?
There is an option on the pause menu that shows the outfits, but you cannot use it to change any outfits. Instead, you must reach a camp or tavern to make the change. These are points where players can save the game, recharge, craft meals, and gain buffs.
At the camp, find the green tent, it is next to the yellow and orange umbrella. It will offer you the option to change outfits, and you will get to pick between the outfits available. If you are at a tavern, interact with the bartender to get the option.
Keep in mind that each character only has one outfit. Players who pre-ordered the game will receive the Traveling Outfits set, these are the clothes that characters wore when they first joined the crew. Players who pre-ordered the Collector’s Edition or Deluxe Edition receive the Sniper King Outfit for Usopp.
It is not possible to get additional outfits in the game at the moment. It is possible that more outfits will come in the near future as DLC.
Is One Piece Odyssey canon?
One Piece author Eiichiro Oda contributed to the team behind One Piece Odyssey. However, the game is not part of the canon.
“Regarding canonicity, it is not part of the story. However, it fits within the story of ‘One Piece’ itself, so fans will not be confused regarding the continuity,” said Katsuaki Tsuzuki, producer of the game.
One Piece Odyssey is truly a celebration of 25 years on the air. The game revisits previous arcs that are part of the anime but doesn’t change or influence the upcoming story in any way.
