Hogwarts Legacy
is fast approaching. The game takes players on a journey through the Wizarding World of Harry Potter like no other. If you are still undecided about picking it up, here are the prices, platforms, and everything you need to know about Hogwarts Legacy.
Developed by Avalanche Software, Hogwarts Legacy is an action RPG game. Players take the role of a newly transferred fifth-year student who starts at Hogwarts in the 1890s. The game allows players to customize their character’s appearance, gender, and house at Hogwarts.
Hogwarts Legacy is an open-world game, allowing players to explore Hogwarts and its surrounding areas as they wish. Players have the opportunity to attend classes and improve their skills. There are additional activities players can take on, like the Dueling Club, quests assigned by other characters, and exploration challenges.
The game has a focus on the combat system, making it the most complex out of all the Harry Potter games published. Learning how to fight is perhaps the most important skill for players to learn and will influence the story’s progression.
Hogwarts Legacy Standard Edition vs. Deluxe
There are currently two versions of the game available for purchase. The Standard Edition includes the base game, the Onyx Hippogriff, and PlayStation players receive the Felix Felicis Potion Recipe and the Haunted Hogsmeade Shop Quest.
The Deluxe Edition includes everything in the Standard Edition, plus 72 hours early access, the Dark Arts Garrison Hat, and a Dark Arts Pack with a Thestral Mount, Dark Arts Cosmetic Set, and Dark Arts Battle Arena.
Out of the two versions, Hogwarts Legacy Deluxe Edition would be the one to go. While the perks are mostly cosmetic items, the early access to the game makes it worth it.
Most of the benefits apply to PlayStation users. Those using other platforms might want to purchase the Standard Edition.
Hogwarts Legacy platforms and release date
Hogwarts Legacy will have a different release date based on the platform you own. The game will become available on February 10 for players using PlayStation 5, Xbox Series X/S, and PC.
This group of players gets the early access perk from the Deluxe Edition and will be able to play on February 7.

Hogwarts has a different release date for Nintendo Switch and platforms from previous generations. PlayStation 4 and Xbox One are getting the game on April 4, while Nintendo Switch players will have to wait until July 25.
The difference in release dates has to do with different development processes. Hogwarts Legacy is optimized for every platform.
