The Madden NFL 23 ratings are in, and four players sit at the top of the mountain with a 99 OVR.
One of the biggest changes for any new Madden game is the unveiling of the player ratings. Things were no different for Madden NFL 23.Â
The ratings for every player have been revealed with a number of surprises. Naturally, this generated a good bit of controversy with fans complaining that their favorite players were snubbed by EA Sports.
So what are the player ratings in Madden NFL 23? Here’s how to find out where everyone in the league stacks up.
Madden NFL 23 has four top-rated players with a 99 OVR including the Los Angeles Rams’ Aaron Donald, the Las Vegas Raiders’ Davante Adams, the Cleveland Browns’ Myles Garrett, and Trent Williams of the San Francisco 49ers.
Notably, three of the four best players in Madden 23 that received a 99 OVR are linemen, with Adams being the only skill position player. He has some company when it comes to the next step down of 98 OVR players.
There are four 98 OVR players. The group includes Rams receiver Cooper Kupp and cornerback Jalen Ramsey, Kansas City Chief tight end Travis Kelce, and Dallas Cowboy offensive lineman Zack Martin. The full list of player ratings can be found on the official Madden NFL 23 website.
In a marketing effort to promote the game, EA Sports made the decision to open up a hotline for fans to discuss the ratings in Madden NFL 23. It went exactly as one would expect.
The hotline, which was presented as being manned by former Cincinnati Bengals receiver Chad Ochocinco, reportedly rang off the hook with fans complaining. Those who called in were greeted with a voicemail message from Ochocinco asking for fans to plead their case for why a player was overrated or underrated.
So far, no word has been given on a player’s rating being adjusted.
