Here are the details on MultiVersus' release date, battle pass
MultiVersus open beta is running smoothly with a string of new content but when is its official release date?
MultiVersus has recently rolled out plenty of new content, including the
Iron Giant, Rick, and Morty. The game has been received fairly well but the open beta still isn’t for everyone, everywhere, on every platform.
Only those in the Americas, Europe, Australia, and New Zealand can participate in the open beta, creating more hype around the release. The second wave of the open beta kicks off on July 26, but players worldwide won’t have to wait longer to play MultiVersus.
When is MultiVersus release date?
MultiVersus will get its official full release on August 9
The confirmation of a release date came after the reveal of new content set to arrive in season one. On August 9, players worldwide will be able to log in to their accounts and enjoy the game for free. Season one will bring Rick, Morty, and a brand new map themed on the popular show.
The new map has a platform with giant destructible speakers. The background has creepy alien figures that want the competitors to show what they’ve got.
What’s coming in MultiVersus season 1?
Season one of MultiVersus will add Rick and Morty as playable characters, and a Rick and Morty level.
There may also be some new DLC in season one, but that’s all we know for now. The current battle pass has 15 tiers of rewards, but future seasons should be larger. The developer advised players to expect future battle passes to have around 50 tiers that are unlockable over a longer timeframe.
One of the easiest ways to stack up your MultiVersus account with a battle pass prior to the release is by acquiring the
Founder’s Pack. Three battle passes are also included in the collection. It’s unclear whether the buyers would have two extra passes to share or if the next three battle passes would be unlocked but it’s worth considering for anyone that’s fallen in love with the game.
While the August 9 build will be available for all, testing phase players may have a slight advantage.
Does MultiVersus have cross-progression?
MultiVersus has full cross-progression support across all platforms. So, those who played in closed alpha and beta will have their progress saved to flex on newcomers on August 9.
At the start of every season, you will be able to earn a ton of sweet upgrades for free as you progress through the latest gameplay. The developer has titled these first few weeks (July 19 – August 8) “Preseason,” and it will last until season 1 kicks off. That’s when the true battle of the duos will begin.
