Half Life 3 hopes revived with Project White Sands leak

Project Neon Prime has just been leaked as Deadlock, confirmed to be the next Valve game. And now, a leak suggests another title, “White Sands,” is under the works. Could it be code for Half Life 3?

The Half-Life series, released in 1998, hasn’t been continued since the release of Half-Life 2: Episode 2 in 2007. Many weak rumors came and went, and none came to life. Unfortunately, 17 years have passed with no official continuation of the storyline, except for a prequel named “Half-Life: Alyx” in 2020. However, a recent leak has reignited hope among fans, suggesting that Half-Life 3 might finally be in the works.

The rumor started on the subreddit GamingLeaksAndRumours in a post by /u/KekanKok. It merely stated that Valve is working on a title, sourcing to Natasha Chandel’s website. Natasha Chandel is a seasoned actress known for lending her voice in popular video games like Apex Legends, Starfield, and more.

Chandel’s website, which is now inaccessible on different platforms due to a massive amount of people trying to visit it, had credited her for an unknown Valve game codenamed “Project White Sands.” Chandel’s resume has sparked speculation that this could be the long-awaited Half-Life 3. 

It’s worth noting that her job as voice actress for the Valve game was taken down before the website went offline.

What is Project White Sands?

Project White Sands, an upcoming Valve game, is speculated to be Half-Life 3 due to its namesake connection to the New Mexico location of Half-Life’s Black Mesa research facility.

Details about Project White Sands are limited, but Natasha Chandel’s listing of the project on her official website has generated significant interest. With little information available, fans on Reddit and other online platforms are actively discussing the possibility of Half-Life 3. One avid fan commented on the Reddit post, “HL3 copium is back boys.”

Valve is notably working on another project, “Neon Prime,” speculating that Chandel’s resume might be referring to that. However, that project now has a confirmed titled Deadlock, according to the leakers. This leaves Half Life 3 as the most probable case.

Half-Life 3 speculation is still the preferred one by fans, who have been waiting for it for a long time. While Valve has not officially confirmed anything, the involvement of a reputable voice actor, like Chandel, lends credibility to the rumor. Only time may tell what this Project White Sands is.
