G2 Esports vs. Rogue: 2021 LEC Spring Split betting analysis

Reading time: 3 min

The two top teams of the LEC G2 Esports and Rogue will finally clash on Summoner’s Rift, with the winner will be taking pole position in the league.

After keeping up with each other for weeks, it’s finally time to find out who will take the first-place spot in the LEC moving into the final games before the playoffs. G2 and Rogue are currently sharing first place with matching 11-2 records, but only one team will remain at the top after this match unfolds.

Both teams are currently riding a hot streak, but G2 will be the ones to enter the match in the best shape. With six games won in a row, the defending LEC champions are ready to duke it out against Rogue. The match will be interesting many respects, as both teams have great individual players. With that said, G2 should have an edge on an individual level with strong players in all positions. The newest member of the team Martin “Rekkles” Larsson has especially been performing well and is currently looking like the best and most consistent carry for his squad.

The strength of G2 obviously allows them to play through different lanes, depending on matchups and how the game unfolds. So far in 2021, fans have also witnessed carrying from the mid lane and jungle position. All in all, G2 is more versatile than ever and will make it hard for Rogue to get a foothold in the game.

If Rogue gets off to a good start, it will be dangerous for G2. Rogue has proven to be consistent and capable of taking advantage of leads. With Andrei “Odoamne” Pascu added to the top lane in 2021, the team has reached a new level of consistency and team play.

The macro of Rogue has been impressive so far in the 2021 LEC Spring Split, as has as the team’s deep champion pools. The bot lane has also become a big strength for the team, where the young support Adrian “Trymbi” Trybus is playing nicely alongside Steven “Hans Sama” Liv. This is needed to go up as a player like Rekkles, so the bot lane has to be on point for Rogue.

This match could go in both directions, but based on previous performance it’s hard not to favor G2. The defending champions are looking to win another trophy and defeating Rogue will be another step in that direction.

Close match between G2 and Rogue, with G2 favored

As the defending LEC champions, G2 will enter this match slightly favored. G2 also managed to come out on top in the team’s first meeting of 2021, which gives them an edge against Rogue. With that said, Rogue has played very clean this split and is looking like a team with all the right aspects to win a trophy. To make it a reality, Rogue will have to overcome G2 and prove to the world that they are a top-caliber squad.

A win for G2 will give an odds of 1.57 while the reward for Rogue pulling an upset is odds 2.25

The LEC match of the week between G2 Esports and Rogue kicks off on March 5.
