Former Team SoloMid support Bora “YellOwStaR” Kim is back on the rift as a player for LDLC OL.

YellOwStaR retired from professional play back in 2016, and at the time the former player joined Paris Saint-Germain as a manager. In 2017, YellOwStaR signed with LDLC as head coach role that he occupied until his transition to the support role earlier this week.

YellOwStaR, who is a French resident, has played different roles throughout his career. He was an AD carry and played in the top lane for one split when he joined Millenium back in 2011. YellOwStaR transitioned to the support role in 2013 while playing with Fnatic. That same year, a rising star in the European scene rejoined the team, Martin “Rekkles” Larsson.

In 2014, YellOwStaR moved to North America where he joined TSM and its all-star roster. The team included Yiliang “Doublelift” Peng, Søren “Bjergsen” Bjerg, Dennis “Svenskeren” Johnsen, and Kevin “Hauntzer” Yarnell. YellOwStaR’s run with TSM only lasted one split and he rejoined Fnatic.

YellOwStaR, the player turned coach turned player

YellOwStaR retired as a player and assumed a coaching position in 2016. His career as head coach with LDLC has been successful. The team, which competes in France’s national league, finished 2019 with back to back titles. LDLC competed in the European Masters where it made it to the quarterfinals. LDLC fell against BIG, the team that ended up winning the event.

Now, YellOwStaR is back as a player. The team is yet to announce his replacement in the head coaching position.

“Looking forward to getting back in the competition after such a long break,” YellOwStar wrote on Twitter.

On Reddit, the fans showed their support to YellOwStaR on his return to the professional stage.

“So happy to see him back into the fray. I was listening to a podcast with him just today and he seemed really motivated to go back to playing,” a fan wrote.

YellOwStaR will debut in the 2020 LFL Spring on January 21 when LDLC faces Vitality Bee.
