SK Telecom T1 came out victorious in the first telecom war of 2019, one of the oldest esports rivalries in esports.

Lee “Faker” Sang-hyeok reminded fans why he is considered among the best players in the world. The mid laner secured a quadra kill 30 minutes into the second game to secure the clean 2-0 sweep for SKT.

The telecom war is one of the most anticipated events in the LCK. No matter the standings, SKT versus KT Rolster will always brings excitement to the stage. Even with KT Rolster struggling in the year year, this edition of the legendary rivalry met the expectations of fans with two action-packed games.

Despite the final result, KT was in control for the most part of both games. In the first, everything was going in KT’s favor with Song “Smeb” Kyung-ho having his best game of the spring season.

A rookie mistake by KT bottom laner Jeon “Zenit” Tae-gwon gave SKT the chance to recover and turn the game around. Zenit overextended while trying to take down the mid lane turret and was quickly caught out by SKT bot laner Park “Teddy” Jin-seong and his teammates.

SKT didn’t hesitate to pull the trigger from there, securing three kills plus a baron buff. After a second baron combined with an elder drake, the former world champions closed game one.

The second game went in a similar fashion with an even early game. SKT recognized that Smeb was performing better than its top laner, Kim “Khan” Dong-ha, and focused on sending help to the top lane.

SKT secured multiple neutral objectives, and yet KT was able to keep up in gold through farming. In team fights KT was often better, but a couple of blows were not enough to take SKT out of the game.

At 27 minutes SKT secured its second baron of the game. It was enough to break into the enemy base, where it was Faker’s time to shine. The mid laner achieve his first quadra kill of the season and another point for SKT in the telecom war.
