Dr Disrespect is one of the biggest names in the live streaming space, rapidly ascending to become one of the top streaming titans with his over-the-top character. Starting out as a professional gamer, he has since branched out to content creation, game development, and even selling his very own alcohol. There have been some controversies along the way, but the Two Time has come out on top.

Here’s everything we know about Dr Disrespect.

Everything we know about Dr Disrespect

Career

Born Herschel “Guy” Beahm IV, Dr Disrespect grew up in San Mateo, California. He attended California State Polytechnic University, Pomona, where he played Division II NCAA basketball, graduating in 2005.

The Doc’s first noted entrance into the gaming entertainment space is in 2010, publishing YouTube videos playing Call of Duty: Modern Warfare 2. He would also be featured on popular YouTube channel Machinima, which often collected clips and snippets from other gaming channels for various shows.

In 2011, Dr Disrespect joined Sledgehammer Games as their community manager. During this time, he joined Justin.tv, which would later become Twitch. Dr Disrespect would continue his dual efforts of gaming entertainment and working in the gaming industry until 2015, when he would commit himself to trying to pursue streaming full-time. ‘

Dr Disrespect gathered his initial following for his entertaining personality and his skill at games in the battle royale genre. He hopped from H1Z1 to PlayerUnknown’s Battlegrounds and Call of Duty: Black Ops 4, steadily increasing his viewership as he moved between titles, collaborating with some of the other biggest names in the gaming space along the way.

It’s this period between 2015-2017 during which the Doctor fans know and love would cement himself and his character’s identity in the space. He created Dr Disrespect as a loud, bombastic, egocentric loudmouth with just enough tongue-in-cheek tone to not grate on viewers, this was a smash hit with the gaming community.

In August 2017, Dr Disrespect would take a two-month break from live streaming after admitting in a tearful live stream that he had cheated on her and needed to focus on repairing that relationship. He returned in Februrary 2018 with a peak of 388,000 concurrent viewers, yet another streamer whose return after a hiatus led to a massive jump in viewership.

Since then, he’s only pushed his brand and opportunities further. In 2019, the massive talent agency Creative Artists Agency, or CAA, signed the live streamer. The year after that, the Two-Time signed a massive multi-year deal with Twitch. This deal would blow up in spectacular fashion months later when he was permanently banned from the platform for “[acting] in violation of our Community Guidelines or Terms of Service.”

Since then, he has published a memoir called “Violence. Speed. Momentum,” a catchphrase of his streaming persona. He has also created a custom map for Rogue Company and founded his own “AAA” gaming studio called Midnight Society that is currently producing a free-to-play battle royale game called “Project Moon” that sparked controversy when it began to sell “Founder’s Pass” NFTs to fans before the game had any kind of functional version.

What is Dr Disrespect’s net worth

Current estimations of Dr Disrespect put his net worth at $6 million, a common number across multiple sites. Given his level of popularity and the various projects he’s spearheaded, such as his gaming studio, Midnight Society, this seems to be a good approximation of Dr Disrespect’s net worth.

How tall is Dr Disrespect?

Dr Disrespect is approximately 6′ 6″ tall. The streamer has plenty of jokes about his vertical leap and his athletic prowess, but as a former Division II basketball athlete, the Doc is a towering personality in more ways than one.

Why was Dr Disrespect banned from Twitch?

One of the mysteries of the streamer’s story is his mysterious banning from Twitch in 2021 after signing a massive multi-year deal with the streaming platform.

There has yet to be any official comment on the reason he was banned from a platform that had decided he was worth vast sums of money to have exclusively mere months before, but the falling out from whatever happened was sudden and unexpected.

The only official comment so far was Twitch’s announcement, stating that the streamer had been “in violation of our Community Guidelines or Terms of Service.” Though the platform never specified whether it was the Terms of Service or Community Guidelines that were breached, and what specifically prompted the move.

The only other acknowledgement came in the form of a tweet from the streamer saying the issues had been resolved and neither party admitted to any wrongdoing.

It’s very likely that we won’t ever get a full explanation for why he left Twitch, given that both the streamer and the platform benefit from keeping the details of the falling out private. Twitch doesn’t lose any more face than is necessary kicking out one of its most popular talents, and the Doc doesn’t have to worry about any kickback over whatever led to his banning.
