Call of Duty: Vanguard is just around the corner, but many key details are still hard to find.

Call of Duty: Vanguard is the next installment in the world’s most popular first-person shooter franchise. The highly-anticipated title is a direct mainline sequel to Call of Duty: Black Ops Cold War. Set in World War 2, the story will follow five different soldiers all across the globe. The game will feature new online multiplayer modes and complete integration with battle royale Warzone.

When does Call of Duty: Vanguard come out?

Vanguard is currently scheduled to release on November 5, 2021. Early marketing material did not include a release date, but Sledgehammer Games has confirmed the November release in several official trailers. The game will receive at least one year of post-launch support and will continue to be developed alongside Warzone. Certain features including ranked matchmaking will not be available in Vanguard on release, but they will be added later through free updates.

What is Call of Duty: Vanguard based on?

Call of Duty: Vanguard is set during the late stages of World War 2. It will be the first WWII-based Call of Duty since 2017’s Call of Duty: WWII. Vanguard’s story is based around the early history of the United States Special Forces. Official trailers show five different protagonists spread across different regions of conflict.

Call of Duty: Vanguard is not based on any film, book, or real situation. The five characters are wholly fictional and are meant to represent the heroes of World War 2. The weapons, characters, and battles it portrays all have some basis in real history.

How much is Call of Duty: Vanguard?

Call of Duty: Vanguard’s price changes depending on the platform. The PlayStation 4 and Xbox One versions will cost $59.99. PS5 and Xbox Series gamers will have to shell out $69.99. PC players can purchase the game through Battle.net for $59.99. As for how much hard drive space it will cost, Call of Duty: Vanguard will have a download size of around 60 gigabytes. 

Call of Duty fans can also grab a deluxe version of Call of Duty: Vanguard for $99.99. The Vanguard Ultimate Edition comes with three multiplayer operator skins based on the story mode. Each one comes with its own legendary gun skin blueprint with tracer rounds. The digital download bonus is another gun skin for the Thompson submachine gun.

Will Call of Duty: Vanguard have zombies?

Call of Duty: Vanguard will have a full zombies mode on launch.

Vanguard zombies will serve as an origins story for the Dark Aether storyline that has spanned across several CoD zombie modes. In Vanguard, players will be able to harness the power of dark aether to turn the tides against the undead. Promotional images show a few story mode characters involved with the zombies, so the campaign could be tied into the zombie storyline.

Four Vanguard zombie maps have been confirmed for release. The mode will take players to Stalingrad, Shi no Numa, Paris, and Merville in the battle against the supernatural. Every map is filled with custom assets and easter eggs for players to find after release.
