Intelligence Elden Ring builds should grab the Wing of Astel as soon as they can.
As the Elden Ring metagame develops and the broken options get toned down in patches, players are delving deeper into the game’s arsenal to find good options. The Wing of Astel flew under the radar on release, but players are quickly realizing just how potent the weapon can be. Thanks to incredible scaling and an amazing weapon skill, this Astel-themed weapon is quickly gaining popularity. Here’s what makes it so good and how to get it.
Wing of Astel is a curved sword weapon that requires 7 strength, 17 dexterity, and 20 intelligence to wield. It starts with mediocre scaling in all three stats but quickly improves to B intelligence and C dexterity at +8. As a unique weapon, it requires Somber Smithing Stones to upgrade. It has a solid curved sword move set plus a special heavy attack that sends out projectiles, similar to the Moonlight Greatsword.
The Wing of Astel ability Nebula is one of the best special attacks in all of Elden Ring. At the cost of just 20 FP, it sends out a massive cloud of stars that explode after a short delay. This attack does an incredible amount of damage in a very large area, making it perfect for taking on Elden Ring’s many hordes. The blast can deal up to 1,500 damage with the right build. Nebula combined with the special heavy projectiles makes Wing of Astel a very versatile weapon in Elden Ring.
Despite the weapon’s connection to Astel, Naturalborn of the Void, defeating that boss is actually not required to get this weapon. Instead, it sits in the underground city of Nokstella. Check out the full Moonlight Greatsword guide to learn how to unlock the secret underground city.
Start from the Nokstella, Eternal City grace and immediately turn east. Stick to the right wall and enter the ant tunnel as soon as possible. You should see a T-posing ant at the end of a tunnel. Keep hugging the right side until you spot a massive eldritch creature that flings rocks at the player. Either kill it with ranged attacks or hide from the rocks until you reach a small ruins area.
At the top of the ruins area is a small chest in a very precarious position. Run out between rock blasts and use the opening animation’s invincibility to claim the weapon.
