Doublelift, Rekkles, Bjergsen highlight all-time scores LCS and LEC
Whether it’s the North American League Championship Series or the rebranded LCS, and European LCS or rebranded LEC, an overview of historical stats at the pro level shows that League’s professional scene has been dominated by a few top stars even since its beginnings.
Zachary “mancloud” Hoschar, then known as mandatorycloud, had the highest number of kills at the end of NA LCS’ first split, through the 2013 Spring playoffs. Playing under teams that have all been disbanded since, he remained at the top all until a year later when he was overtaken by a young Yiliang “Doublelift” Peng.
Jason “WildTurtle” Tran started dominating the ranks from NA LCS 2015 Spring. He has had the highest number of kills totaled over the past four years, collecting more than 1,750 along the way through 2019’s spring split. Doublelift has been shortly behind WildTurtle for most of that time until he finally overtook WildTurtle this summer, with one former TSM bot laner leading the other by about 30 kills.
The European scene was dominated by Enrique “xPeke” Martínez from the very beginning. First at Fnatic, then with his own team at Origen, xPeke kept his kill score the highest in the region until 2017 Spring playoffs, by which time he had totaled over 980 kills. The top spot was then taken by Fnatic’s Martin “Rekkles” Larsson.
Rekkles has since then been standing strong at the top of Europe’s list. By the LEC 2019 Summer Split he has accumulated nearly 1,500 kills. Although xPeke hasn’t fallen below the second spot on the list, he is been over 500 kills behind Rekkles.
Even though Rekkles has been dominating the EU scene, he’s lagging further behind if we look both at the EU and NA regions together. Doublelift, WildTurtle, Søren “Bjergsen” Bjerg, and Cloud9’s Zach “Sneaky” Scuderi have all scored more kills in the LCS since its beginnings.
Regardless of the fact that many players have been competing on the stages of Riot Games’ Championship Series since 2013, the kill score has mostly been dominated by a few mainstay players throughout the years. However, this doesn’t mean they’re necessarily the best players in the game’s history, since not all in-game roles focus equally on killing enemies players.
