Valorant is set to release to all players on June 2, and now that the date is nearing, fans have received a glimpse of the first-person shooter’s newest hero.

On the Valorant Brazil YouTube, a hype trailer for the game appeared. At the end, fans saw the new hero that was teased when developers announced that the game would be released on June 2 with a new hero, a new map, and a new game mode.

New Valorant hero revealed in trailer

The character is a female and was only shown from the waist up, and was cast in a shadow making it difficult for fans to get a good look at her. But it didn’t take long before people on social media were able to brighten the photo, making the new hero much easier to see.

She has dark hair at the top that could be the purple as it fades to the bottom, but the lighting makes it hard to discern. Her eyes show a purple hue and match the centerpiece of her armor. She wears tank top-shaped armor that goes almost all the way up her neck, resembling a choker.

Her left arm is covered with tattoos, and halfway down her bicep is a purple glow beneath the skin. Her right arm is covered with armor, but it’s unclear whether it’s attached to her or not because her hair lays over her shoulder. She wears large hoop earrings and what appears to be studs going up the length of her ear.

There are no additional details yet that relate to the character’s backstory or how she will play, but there are a few clues. The Latin American Valorant Twitter page has used the hashtag #ReynaIsHere, indicating that the new hero’s name could be Reyna. Some fans are convinced of it, while others think it could simply be a reference to the spanish term for “Queen.”

Twitter banner hints at Valorant lore

In addition to the tease, the Valorant Twitter account for North America has also been updated with a new banner that says “Ignition,” and beneath that, “Episode_01.” Fans speculate that this is either related to lore or is the name of the first season of official ranked competition.

Fans might be given more information over the course of the last remaining weekend prior to launch, but it is not certain that Valorant will release any more new details until the launch on June 2.
