Mob Entertainment is teasing new monsters for the upcoming Poppy Playtime Chapter 3, and players couldn’t be more shook.

Poppy Playtime games have multiple toys with human-like souls creeping up the toy-manufacturing company, but there’s always one main antagonist. However, the developer may be breaking away from the tradition, introducing multiple monsters in the upcoming chapter — at least, that’s what the teasers suggest.

After teasing the prototype and a cat-like monster in the official trailer, Mob Entertainment has shared eight new tiny monsters on their social media called Smiling Critters. Loremasters are having a field day since the developer posted the cryptic image, but officially, it’s tough to say who these Smiling Critters are.

Are they just backpacks, stuffed toys for showcase, or do they play a crucial part in the storyline?

Who are Smiling Critters in Poppy Playtime Chapter 3?

On November 3, Mob Entertainment shared two images of Smiling Critters. The first one had eight stuffed animals with creepy smiles, while the second was one missing the purple cat, who’s coincidently quite similar to the monster in the main trailer.

Each monster has a unique charm on its neck, with the missing cat wearing a crescent moon. The image includes an elephant, a pig, a unicorn, a dog, a bunny, a teddy bear, and a chicken. The missing critter is a cat, who loremasters believe is the final monster.

Invested players have theorized that Poppy Playtime Chapter 3 may have multiple antagonists and the main cat monster. However, it’s tough to say how these critters would fit into the storyline for the upcoming chapter.

In any case, Poppy Playtime Chapter 3 seems to have a lot going on. Players will find out more about the lore and backstory of Poppy sometime in November 2023 when the game officially releases worldwide.
