Developmental Rise of Titans Valorant tournament announced

Angry Titans is the latest brand to host a Valorant tournament.

The Germany-based esports organization has announced Rise of Titans, a developmental tournament featuring a number of teams that have stood out in Valorant’s first few months. The event will be casted by Leigh “Deman” Smith and Jason Kaplan.

The qualifier stage begins on June 17, with the event wrapping up on June 19. The Angry Titans have said that this tournament is meant to be for players and teams to showcase their skills in the new esports title.

16 teams have been invited, but will need to make their way through the qualifier bracket to compete in the tournament. These teams are mostly made up of players from other professional esports titles such as Paladins, Overwatch, and CSGO.

We are extremely excited to present the 16 invited teams of our Rise of Titans VALORANT scouting tournament to you!

On its Twitter, Angry Titans have already put out some popular names who will be competing in the tournament. They’ve highlighted Adam “ec1s” Eccles, a former CSGO pro, George “Shadowburn” Gushcha, a former Overwatch League player, and Paladins’ Leander “Tenner” Aspestrand. The event will also host the Valorant team of Ninjas in Pyjamas.

On their challengermode page, the Angry Titans cite their success in Overwatch League Contenders, and tout benefits such as their own nutritionist, a fitness coach, and player managers.

Rise of the Titans follows a slew of other Valorant tournaments hosted by esports organizations as a means of highlighting their own squads or raising awareness of their brands. Other examples include the Solary Cup and the T1 Invitational.

The prize pool is just $2,000, but these sorts of tournaments hold an important place in Valorant’s esports scenes. Teams will be looking to jockey for position as things head in the direction of larger leagues and tournaments, while players will be looking to find a sponsor to help their teams develop and become cemented in the game.
