LCS caster and Skarner devotee Clayton “CaptainFlowers” Raines is stepping down from This or That to focus on personal problems.

CaptainFlowers announced through Twitter that he is no longer part of the LCS web show This or That. In the show, the hosts are presented with a series of questions and must pick between two answers. The show covers topics like the LCS, solo queue, and current events worldwide.

CaptainFlowers joined the show when the previous host and LCS caster Joshua “Jatt” Leesman was transferred to the balance team at developer Riot Games. Jatt rejoined the broadcast in summer of 2019, but CaptainFlowers kept his role in This or That. Now, CaptainFlowers is retiring and Jatt has officially reclaimed his former role.

After LCS suspension, is CaptainFlowers being punished?

The community speculated that it was a punishment by Riot and not a choice by the caster. Back in February, CaptainFlowers shared that he overslept and missed the call time for an episode of This or That. As a consequence of that, Riot suspended him from the LCS broadcast the following weekend.

The caster took Twitter to clarify that he’s okay with the decision.

“Today, I’m stepping away from This or That. I’ve been dealing with a lot of personal stuff for a while now and this feels like the right call for me at this point. Yes, this is what I really want and 100% yes I’ll still be on LCS as soon as it gets going again,” CaptainFlowers wrote on Twitter.

This or That premiered the first episode without CaptainFlowers on Tuesday with Jatt and Sam “Kobe” Hartman-Kenzler. The hosts recorded the show from their respective home, following the health and safety protocols against the coronavirus.

The LCS, that was briefly suspended, is back on March 21. Over the weekend, the LCS will have five games per day. Monday Night League and Academy Rush are no longer part of the broadcast.
