Teamfight Tactics patch 10.13 brings some significant adjustments to the game mode’s newest traits and champions.
The mid-set update added Battlecast and Astro as the new traits in TFT: Galaxies. Right off the bat, these traits proved to be strong and became an essential part of the meta. In comparison, Astro is performing better than Battlecast thanks to the Yordle we all love to hate, Teemo.
Path 10.13 addresses the Astro units directly and helps out the underperforming Battlecast units.
TFT players are not exempt from the annoying Teemo mushrooms. This spell is equally frustrating whether one is playing on Summoner’s Rift or in TFT. While the damage will stay pretty much the same after this change, the slow duration has been reduced.
Reducing the slow duration by one second might not be enough to get Teemo out of the meta, so Astro and Sniper remains still a viable composition.
Nautilus is also getting nerfed in patch 10.13 since the champion brings too much crowd control to the map. Like Teemo, this is a small adjustment and is not enough to remove Nautilus from the meta.
Gnar is another tier-four Astro getting adjustments. Like Nautilus, Gnar’s strengths is the crowd control it provides on top of its extra health and damage once Gnar transforms. These changes are meant to better adjust those features of the champion.
Battlecast is an interesting trait since it has consistent damage dealers and a decent front line. Thetrait also changes based on the state of the game. Both the trait and its units are getting buffed in patch 10.13.
Illaoi is a Battlecast-Brawler that can act as a front line tank for the rest of her fellow units. Because Illaoi is a tier-one unit, she can more easily get upgraded to three stars. These buffs make Illaoi tankier and overall stronger.
The days of the blender meta are long gone, but Nocturne is back. Patch 10.13 returns to Nocturne some of its attack speed and buffs its three-star version, so players may feel more inclined to roll for it.
Last but not least is Kog’Maw, a Blaster that can act as a hyper carry in the right composition. Patch 10.13 adds a little more health to this unit and reduces the mana necessary to activate its spell.
