The Mercenaries mode is not accessible at the beginning of the game. In order to unlock it, players must complete the main game Story mode in any difficulty.

is no exception. Unfortunately, there is only one unlockable reward at the moment. Players who achieve S rank or higher in all three stages of Mercenaries will receive the Headcannon weapon.
This reward is not unique to the Mercenaries mode. Players who complete the main story in Professional mode without bonus weapons will also receive it as a reward.
Will Resident Evil 4 Remake have DLC?
On April 7, Resident Evil 4 Remake received an update that included the addition of the Mercenaries mode. It is unclear if there will be another significant update in the future, but some fans are speculating an update is coming.
According to some data miners, there are references to Separate Ways, an expansion to the original game. In this expansion, players had the opportunity to play as Ada Wong. Whether this expansion will be released or not, it is yet to be confirmed.
It would make sense for Capcom to release it since it was part of the original game and also add some extra rewards to the Mercenaries mode.
