Former ROX Tigers mid laner Kuro retires from pro LoL

Another member of the famed ROX Tigers squad has chosen to retire, and this time it’s mid laner Lee “Kuro” Seo-haeng who will be putting his mouse and keyboard on the shelf.

It’s hasn’t been long since former ROX Tigers support Kang “GorillA” Beom-hyun made the announcement that he would retire, and now Kuro will be doing the same. Kuro was the mid laner for ROX Tigers when the team had its great 2016 season. Jungler Han “Peanut” Wang-ho is now the only player from the lineup with an active pro contract.

The rest of the squad is clearly hitting a point of retirement, but all of them do so with a great career behind them. Kuro was considered one of the best mid laners in Korea in 2016 and has since played for teams such as Afreeca Freecs, KT Rolster, and Bilibili Gaming in the LPL.

Since winning the 2016 LCK Summer Split with ROX Tigers, Kuro has struggled to find the same form. He got close to another trophy during his time at Afreeca Freecs, but never managed to go all the way again. Kuro ended his career after one year at KT Rolster. Despite playing alongside another ROX Tigers legend in top laner Song “Smeb” Kyung-ho, the team didn’t manage to perform and failed to make it to the 2020 World Championship.

According to Kuro, he will look to do coaching or broadcasting work in the future.

In his statement he says that he’ll be back to do broadcast work and/or coach so he’s not leaving the scene entirely.

What role was Kuro in LoL?

Kuro has been playing as a mid laner throughout his whole career. He was once considered one of the best mid laners in Korea. He is known for being great on control mages such as Viktor and Syndra.

How old is Kuro?

Kuro is 26 years old and has played professionally since 2013. He was a long-standing mid laner in the LCK and will now retire before the 2021 season. Kuro has been playing for some of the best teams in South Korea and even spent one season in the Chinese LPL.

Who were the ROX Tigers in LoL?

ROX Tigers was an organization that participated in the LCK back in 2016, when the team was considered one of the big contenders for the annual World Championship. The organization never managed to win the title, but did win the 2016 LCK Summer Split and KeSPA Cup 2016.
