Most gacha games try to lure players in with constant free pulls and freebies, but Genshin Impact is a notable exception. Instead of free wishes, Genshin Impact draws new players in with fantastic open-world gameplay and charming characters. For free-to-play and budget players, free Primogems are extremely valuable. For those saving up for Yae Miko or any other future five-star, these tricks to get free Primogems will get you a little bit closer.

Achievement hunting is well worth the effort

Chests and quests aren’t the only built-in way to get free Primogems in Genshin Impact. There are hundreds if not thousands of achievements that grant a handful of Primogems each. While some only give out five or 10, there are a few that give up to 20. That’s not exactly close to a pull, but they quickly add up.

The easiest Genshin Impact achievements to complete for free Primogems are the ones involving boss fights. Defeating certain bosses in co-op will reward a grip of Primogems each, which quickly add up to free pulls. Experienced players can go back to complete Spiral Abyss achievements with hardly any effort. The Wonders of the World section includes a bunch of simple achievements, which can help accelerate a player to max pity. Browse through the achievement list in the main menu and start hunting down free Primogems.

Earn free Primogems from Genshin Impact web events

Events are a core part of any gacha game, but Genshin Impact’s celebrations can take place outside of the game. Web events are a constant fixture of Genshin Impact. Whether they’re simple minigames or introductions to new five-star characters, they’re a great way to scrape together a few extra wishes.

The easiest way to keep track of Genshin Impact web events is to click the Special Event section of the in-game menu. Located on the bottom right, that button will open up any active web events in the default internet browser. Another way to check for web events is to check the official miHoYo news page.

Hangout Events grant a bunch of free Primogems

Its easy to forget that Hangout Events even exist in Genshin Impact, but going through a bunch of them is a great way to earn a bunch of free Primogems. Each one can grant up to 60 Primogems each. There are 12 total Hangout Events as of update 2.4, which means a grand total of 720 free Primogems. That’s enough for four pulls with a bit extra, which can make the difference for limited five-star banners.

Considering the sheer amount of time needed to complete Hangout Events, it’s best to just barrel through them as quickly as possible. There are a bunch of online guides to help speedrun Hangout Events. The in-game route menu also makes it easy to track your progress. If there is a Hangout Event for a good character, feel free to slow down and enjoy the story beats while collecting free Primogems in Genshin Impact.
