Endretta joins Misfits ahead of Fortnite World Cup finals

Misfits Gaming has welcomed Norwegian player Endre “Endretta” as an addition to its Fortnite World Cup squad.

Endretta qualified for the Fortnite World Cup Finals in the ninth week of European qualifiers, where he achieved the highest number of points in the solo tournament. He is considered to be one of Norway’s top competitive Fortnite players.

He has previously played for Xypher Esports, a European Fornite team that represents more than 15 Fortnite players on their active roster. They parted ways on June 17 with no reason for the move being made public. Endretta is also known for his Twitch streams and YouTube channel, both of which mostly focus on Fortnite content.

With Endretta joining, Misfits now has seven players on its Fortnite roster. Griffin “Scepctic” Spikoski, Cody “Sheep” Albrecht, Brenden “Famhood” Van Hook, and Jacob “Heads” Churchfield have been a part of the team since last year. Cody “Clix” Conrod, “ops,” and Endretta have now joined during this season.

Sceptic had qualified for the finals in the second week of the qualifiers with Clix as a duo partner. Clix has also qualified as a solo player in the third week, when Damion “XXiF” C. received a 14-day ban for cheating and lost his spot to Clix. Sheep, Famhood, Heads, and ops haven’t qualified for the finals event.

Fortnite World Cup Finals will be starting on July 26 in New York City. From 40 million players that have competed in the qualifiers across all regions, only 100 solo players and 50 duo teams have made it to the finals.

Qualified players will be fighting for a winning prize of $3 million for both the solo and duo tournaments. Altogether, the tournament will feature a $30 million prize pool, with each of the partaking players earning a minimum of $50,000 in winnings.

The finals, therefore, offer what is currently the biggest prize pool esports has seen. However, Dota 2’s The International 2019 is lagging just half a million dollars behind and is likely to cross the $30 million mark within the next month of contributions.
