The Shanghai Dragons are having an amazing Stage 3.

The veteran Overwatch League team is currently third in the standings, with a 2-0 record. This includes a 3-1 victory over Los Angeles Valiant in Week 1, and a more surprising 3-2 win against Atlanta Reign the following week.

This is a major change from their Season 1 showing, when they were known as the worst team in the entirety of the OWL. The improvement is thanks in large part to the Shanghai Dragon’s new attitude and some new faces, including in-game leader Young-jin “Gamsu” Noh.

Now, Shanghai Dragons are looking to continue this momentum with the addition of off-tank Lee “Envy” Kang-jae from the Toronto Defiant.

“We’re happy to announce Envy is joining the Shanghai Dragons from the Toronto Defiant. Please welcome him as the newest member of our roster!” the team said.

Many fans are speculating that this is the Dragon’s attempt at improving their GOATS play. As GOATS continues to dominate the meta, D.va dive specialists like Se-yeon “Geguri” Kim are seeing less tournament play.

Many OWL viewers are sad about the prospect of seeing Geguri even less in upcoming matches.

Envy is one of the few players in the OWL to play for three separate teams. In Season 1, Envy played for the Los Angeles Valiant. He was released in April 2018 when he became an off-tank for Meta Bellum, an Overwatch Contenders Korea team. He returned to the Overwatch League in October 2018, joining the Toronto Defiant before the second season.

The Shanghai Dragons will be playing the Los Angeles Valiant tomorrow as they continue to fight for a spot in the playoffs.
