It seems like Topias Miikka “Topson” Taavitsainen will be getting back in action before long.
OG’s star mid laner took to Instagram and released a post that suggested he will be returning to the team in the near future. The caption for the post reads “soon back in action #DreamOG. Stay strong everyone.”
OG has been incredibly active over recent months, taking part in a number of online Dota 2 leagues. The team has been generally successful, but that has come in spite of playing with multiple substitutes. In addition to Topson, OG off laner Yeik “MidOne” Nai Zheng’s availability has also been spotty due to his being home in Malaysia over recent weeks. He has competed on a few occasions, but this forced him to grapple with both opponents and over 200 ping.
Filling in for Topson and MidOne has been a revolving door of different players. Former OG off laner Sebastian “Ceb” Debs came out of retirement in order to fill holes in the team’s roster. The team has also turned to former Alliance player Neta “33” Shapira, OG Seed member Omar Mohammad “Madara” Dabachach, and Quincy Crew’s Quinn “CCnC” Callahan to serve as stand-ins during various leagues.Â
The return of Topson will undoubtedly be a boon to OG. In addition to offering a bit of extra roster stability for the team, Topson will likely come back sharp and ready to help with his incredible mid lane prowess.
Those who haven’t been following OG’s play in recent tournaments might be surprised to find out that the Finnish player hasn’t been around. The organization never had any kind of official announcement regarding his absence and Topson himself hasn’t made it especially clear what’s going on.
Â
Looking at social media, it seems as though Topson has been outside of Europe spending time with his girlfriend, a Malaysian model named Mawar Remy. The couple first went public in November and have been spending time together in the months since. Details are spotty but some believe that Topson traveled to Malaysia to visit her, which has been the cause of his absence.Â
Either way, fans can look forward to Topson making his triumphant return in the near future.
