It’s the final day of the BEYOND Epic group stage, and fans are in for some top-notch Dota 2 action.

BEYOND Epic’s European and CIS regional play is on its last day of the group stage. Team Nigma, FlyToMoon, and Team Liquid will kick off the playoff stage in the upper bracket.

European powerhouse teams, Team Secret and OG, were both placed in Group A. Surprisingly, Vikin.gg and Team Nigma currently claims the top two spots in the group.

The series between Team Secret and OG will surely be intense, because an upper bracket spot is at stake. Team Secret needs to win its last two series while OG needs to win this series to take the last upper bracket slot. Both teams are also playing with their official lineups in full. So which European giant will claim the victory in this crucial series?

Team Secret vs. OG analysis, history

Team Secret is on a winning streak

Team Secret has claimed the championship title in the last five regional tournaments. The hot winning streak started at WePlay! Pushka League Season 1.

The team also has the titles for Gamers Without Borders 2020, OGA Dota Pit 2020 Europe and CIS, ESL One Birmingham 2020 Online, and BLAST Bounty Hunt under its belt.

Team Secret is currently dominating the region with its complete roster:

  1. Lasse Aukusti “MATUMBAMAN” Urpalainen
  2. Michał “Nisha” Jankowski
  3. Ludwig “zai” Wåhlberg
  4. Yazied “YapzOr” Jaradat
  5. Clement “Puppey” Ivanov

The championship titles are not enough to describe the team’s dominance. In May 2020, Team secret has won 82 out of its 100 previous games. This marks the best 100-game streak of play in the history of Dota 2’s competitive scene.

Indeed, Team Secret is in great form. Despite its loss to Team Nigma in the group stage, Team Secret is still a heavy fan favorite to take home the BEYOND Epic title.

OG rebounding with its full lineup

OG has finally played with its full lineup in the regional league. When the shift to online tournaments became prevalent, many Dota 2 teams have encountered issues in playing with the official roster. OG is no exception.

Several stand-ins played under the banner of OG, such as two-time TI winner Sébastien “Ceb” Debs and Alliance player Neta “33” Shapira.

OG is looking to rebound and claim the trophy in BEYOND Epic with its full lineup:

  1. Syed Sumail “SumaiL” Hassan
  2. Topias Miikka “Topson” Taavitsainen
  3. Yeik “MidOne” Nai Zheng
  4. Martin “Saksa” Sazdov
  5. Johan “N0tail” Sundstein

OG has played with its full roster in the recently concluded BLAST Bounty Hunt. Fans can see the high level of chemistry as the team claims the grand finals spot. However, its dramatic loss to Team Secret proved that there is still room for improvement against the world’s best competition.

Team Secret vs. OG BEYOND Epic group stage betting odds, predictions

Team Secret and OG have been pitted against each other several times in the past. Their BLAST Bounty Hunt performance is the perfect grounds for analysis, as both teams played with their complete rosters there as well.

During that tournament, Team Secret and OG played six times. Team Secret won five of those games. Team Secret’s momentum gives it the upper hand in the tournament, while OG is still getting the hang of online leagues with its full lineup.

Winners.bet’s line reflects this, favoring Team Secret by a large margin. OG is well known for defying all odds, so one cannot disregard a possible upset. But Secret is looking like a safe bet against just about anyone considering their recent play.
