Pokemon GO Fest 2022 has been confirmed along with the return of a live event component to the event. So where will Pokemon GO Fest 2022 actually take place?

In an announcement on the Pokemon GO website, Niantic confirmed the return of GO Fest. While this isn’t surprising, the company also announced that there will be real-life GO Fest festivities in a few cities around the world. This will be the first time since 2019 that there will be an in-person facet to the event.

Pokemon GO Fest traditionally introduces a handful of new Pokemon that can be obtained in a variety of ways including finding them in the wild, spotting them in photo bombs, research reward encounters, and more. There are also typically special legendary and mythical Pokemon that are obtainable through Pokemon GO Fest along with new shiny Pokemon.

Pokemon GO Fest 2022 cities, schedule

Pokemon GO Fest 2022 will run in-game on June 4-5 around the world, local time.

The virtual celebration will also have three live events in different cities. These events will not overlap with the in-game GO Fest event in 2022 and will instead take place between one and two months later. The cities and dates for GO Fest 2022 are as follows:

  • July 1-3: Berlin, Germany
  • July 22-24: Seattle, USA
  • August 5-7: Sapporo, Japan

In addition to this being the first time that GO Fest will have an in-person component since 2019, 2022 will be the first time where the event doesn’t take place in Chicago, Illinois. GO Fest began in 2017 in the Windy City and returned to the city in 2018 and 2019. Instead of Chicago, GO Fest 2022 will be headed to Seattle, Washington.

It is unknown what the festivities will include and what the pricing will be for the event.

What Pokemon will be released in GO Fest 2022?

It is unknown what Pokemon will be included as a part of GO Fest 2022.

The event has been centered around different mythical and legendary Pokemon. 2021 featured two new mythical Pokemon in Hoopa and Meloetta, 2019 featured Jirachi, and so on.

There are a slew of different Pokemon that haven’t yet been added to Pokemon GO that could be a part of this. An Ultra Beast invasion, an event surrounding Necrozma, or something related to Arceus would all make sense.
