TSM vs. 100 Thieves: 2021 LCS Summer betting analysis
After a great first week for both teams, the two will now clash in an important match to stay at the top of the league. TSM was probably the best-performing team in the first week, taking three wins. 100 Thieves got away with two wins but lost a single game to Immortals. The match between the two will, therefore, be one of the most exciting in the upcoming week, and fans can likely look forward to a lot of action.
During the first week, TSM got the best possible start to the split. After missing out on the spring final, TSM is back hungrier than ever to reclaim the LCS throne. TSM did this by showcasing a great understanding of the current meta and even flexing its strength on the newest champion Gwen. TSM was confident enough to play her both in mid and top, which will likely give them a big drafting edge moving forward.
Besides the Gwen pick, TSM also got to show how much the player synergy has improved since spring. Last split, TSM suffered from inconsistency but it finally seems that the team is starting to gel on Summoner’s Rift. The biggest key to victory this weekend is mid-laner Tristan “PowerOfEvil” Schrage, who had a big impact in all three games. He was helped a lot by jungler Mingyi “Spica” Lu, who looks to be very comfortable in the current meta.
For 100 Thieves to beat TSM, the mid and jungle synergy will have to be on point. This alone might be hard, as 100 Thieves is still trying to get everything in order surrounding new mid laner Felix “Abbedagge” Braun. While Abbedagge had a solid start in the LCS, he will potentially have to face his toughest opponent yet in PowerOfEvil. Even though Abbedagge already faced off against Cloud9's Luka “Perkz” Perković, it seems that PowerOfEvil is currently in much better shape.
To gain some win conditions, 100 Thieves might want to look elsewhere on the map for advantages. A potential weak spot for TSM is still in the top lane, where Kim “ Ssumday” Chan-ho has a chance to shine for 100 Thieves. His game on Gwen against Dignitas was out of this world and could potentially be a key to victory.
TSM might be the favorite in this match, but whoever gets Gwen in the champion select could run away with a big advantage. It’s also likely that Gwen will be completely banned, forcing both teams to think in new directions.

TSM going in as a modest favorite against 100 Thieves
After taking first place in the LCS after the first week, TSM is the logical favorite in this matchup. 100 Thieves is only a bit behind TSM in the standings, so fans are likely looking at a close match. With that said, it seems that TSM has a better grasp on the meta. After a long break, it is usually the team with the best read on the meta that will succeed early on. There remain an abundance of question marks around TSM that do leave them vulnerable to an upset, though.
Despite being the current first-place team, TSM will give a fairly high odds of 1.62 while 100 Thieves gives an odds of 2.12. The close odds indicate how close the top of the LCS standings are and that anything can happen.
The LCS match between TSM and 100 Thieves takes place on Friday, June 11.
