Cloud9 wins 2021 LCS Spring coaching staff of the split award
Cloud9 has won another 2021 LCS Spring Season award with its coaching staff being declared the best of the split.
After dominating the LCS All-Pro teams last week, Cloud9’s coaching staff can also continue the Mid-Season Showdown with lots of confidence after being credited as the coaching staff of the split. Previous years have only awarded the coach of the split, but in 2021 the whole coaching staff will be credited. The award includes Cloud9’s head coach and three assistant coaches.

The Cloud9 coaching staff includes former Fnatic and Team Liquid jungler Kim “Reignover” Yeu-jin as the head coach and former G2 Esports support Alfonso “Mithy” Rodríguez. Cloud9 also has Maxwell “Max” Waldo and Marius “Veigar V2” Aune to complete the coaching staff.
The four coaches received the award after finishing the 2021 LCS Spring regular season in first place with a 13-5 record. Cloud9 didn’t start off the season as expected after losing the LCS Lock-In final to Team Liquid but has since picked up the pace.
With bot laner Jesper “Zven” Svenningsen and mid laner Luka “Perkz” Perković leading the squad on Summoner’s Rift, the Cloud9 lineup seems solid this year. There is no doubt that this iteration of Cloud9 has the potential to get results internationally, something that North American fans have been longing for.
Cloud9 will have to win the Mid-Season Showdown first, to secure a spot at the Mid-Season Invitational in Iceland for a shot at international glory. Cloud9 will compete for a spot directly in the final on April 3 against Team Liquid.

When will the LCS MVP be awarded?
Before the ongoing LCS split concludes, the overall MVP of the split will be revealed. This will happen on April 9, just a few days before the Mid-Season Showdown final. The MVP vote is decided by the LCS broadcast team, third-party media, and the pro teams themselves.
