TSM is ramping up in the 2021 LCS Spring Season after taking down LCS Lock In champions Team Liquid with a decisive win.

After a shaky first week of the LCS season, TSM is starting to look like a team to be scared of. Going up against Team Liquid, no one expected the new TSM squad to come out ahead but they did. With an improved early game, TSM managed to slowball the game to a fast victory and it couldn’t have been much cleaner. This is the first time this season that TSM shows a proactive early game and it paid off.

Right from the drafting phase, the game between TSM and Team Liquid revealed a lot. TSM went for a strong-scaling composition, with Azir and Kai’Sa as the main carries. In the jungle was Mingyi “Spica” Lu on Lillia, which turned out to be a great choice against Lucas “Santorin” Larsen’s Graves.

With a big edge in the draft, TSM took to Summoner’s Rift in style. Despite falling a bit behind in the early laning phase, TSM was happy with going even and scaling into the late game. It didn’t take long before Spica ran out of patience and started to make moves. The young jungler set up his lanes for success, culminating in a big fight in the bot lane after just 14 minutes.

The fight resulted in four kills for TSM mid laner Tristan “PowerOfEvil” Schrage’s Azir. From that point, TSM’s late-game carries were already set up and there was nothing Team Liquid could do about it.

With clean macro play, TSM started to starve out Team Liquid on the map and it worked. TSM got control over the dragons, enemy jungle, and Baron buff. After 31 minutes, TSM pushed its way to victory, giving Team Liquid no chance to answer. With 12 kills to Liquid’s three, TSM took its cleanest win of the season so far.

With the win over Team Liquid, TSM is now on a three-game winning streak and heading for the top of the leaderboard. TSM is currently in a four-way tie for third place with Team Liquid, Evil Geniuses, and Dignitas.

TSM will face Immortals on February 14 in its next game, looking to continue the streak.

Did TSM win the LCS?

TSM is currently the defending LCS champion after winning the 2020 LCS Summer Split. TSM didn’t look like a winning team throughout the split but managed to make a miracle run through the lower bracket in the playoffs. This gave TSM its first LCS trophy in years and a ticket to the 2020 World Championship.

What is the TSM 2021 LCS roster?

Despite winning the 2020 LCS Summer Split, TSM made big changes to the roster for 2021 as Søren “Bjergsen” Bjerg and Yiliang “Doublelift” Peng chose to retire.

The TSM 2021 LCS roster is:

  • Top – Heo “Huni” Seung-hoon
  • Jungle – Mingyi “Spica” Lu
  • Mid – Tristan “PowerOfEvil” Schrage
  • Bot – Lawrence “Lost” Hui
  • Support – Hu “SwordArt” Shuo-Chieh
