Riot revealed three brand new Lunar Beast skins and plans for the 2021 season during its opening day live stream.

The new Lunar Beast skin line will include cosmetics for Fiora, Jarvan IV, and Alistar. The skins look to be released for the upcoming 2021 Lunar Event that is expected to go live on the servers with patch 11.2 on January 21. Alongside the skin updates, Riot also announced its plan to release a total of 140 new skins in 2021.

When do the Lunar Beast skins come out?

League of Legends players can expect to see the new Lunar Beast cosmetics in the LoL shop when patch 11.2 hits on January 21. For this year’s Lunar skins, Riot is taking a much more futuristic approach, with a theme of bright orange and red colors. Jarvan IV, Fiora, and Alistar will all receive cosmetics with the traditional Chinese New Year theme, but with a touch of futuristic design and likely new in-game effects.

For now, the skin line will include three champions but it’s possible that more will be announced before the skins hit the Public Beta Environment.

Riot will release 140 new LoL skins in 2021

To add onto the skin updates, Riot teased big plans for 2021. It’s expected that Riot will release no fewer than 140 new cosmetics in 2021, with a few of them already announced. Just like in 2020, Riot will focus on making skins for both fan favorites, and the champions who usually don’t see a lot of love.

One of the new skin line concepts that will likely see the light of day in 2021 is the Space Groove cosmetics. This skin line will include champions such as Blitzcrank, Nasus, and Lux. It’s still unknown when Riot will be releasing the Space Groove line.

To include players in the upcoming skins, Riot will be opening a vote on three thematics that can potentially hit the servers in 2021. This vote will include Monster Tamers, Crime City Nightmare, and Debonair 2.0.
