Valorant introduces fun toy-inspired BlastX weapon skins
Just in time for the holidays, Valorant is rolling out toy-inspired weapons that bring out the kid in every agent. The BlastX line features an aesthetic taken from the ever-popular foam-based Nerf weapon line. Coming in purple and green with suction darts, these vibrant weapon skins will really "stick it to the bad guys."
The official trailer for the BlastX skin line really drives the 90s toy inspiration home. The intense voice over and generic rock music conjure up memories of old Nerf advertisements. The trailer even states to "scream till you get yours," hinting that kids should be begging parents for BlastX skins for Christmas.
"Headshots not included," the advertisement warns.
BlastX weapon skins coming to Valorant
The BlastX weapon skins are already available in the in-game store. The entire bundle costs 8,700 Valorant Points. Players can also purchase individual weapon skins for specific guns.
Like all of Valorant's previous skin lines, only certain weapons have received the BlastX skin treatment. The available weapon skins include:
- BlastX Frenzy: 2,175 VP
- BlastX Phantom: 2,175 VP
- BlastX Odin: 2,175 VP
- BlastX Spectre: 2,175 VP
- BlastX Melee: 4,350VP
- BlastX Spray: 325 VP
The BlastX weapon skin comes in a variety of colors as well, including green, black, and blue as well as yellow, blue, green, and red.
The weapon skins also come with an entertaining "rated E" kill animation. Instead of getting eliminated, enemies will be wrapped up in an oversized present. This really drives home the holiday theme of the weapons as well as their more innocent Nerf motif.
Riot developers have been dropping a lot of Valorant weapon skins lately. The skin collections all come at different price points. Some bundles cost over $100.
For some fans of Counter-Strike: Global Offensive and other first-person shooters, the abundance of weapon skins is worth the price. Each skin comes with its own custom animations, reloads, sound effects, and even death animations. Some weapon skins will even change as players level up that particular weapon, evolving in appearance.
