Suning accused of buying votes for All-Star 2020

Melany M. November 14, 2020

2020 World Championship finalist Suning Gaming is being accused of tampering with the All-Stars event voting.

Fans are looking suspiciously at the voting for the All-Stars event after Suning players got an alarming number of votes in a short period of time. The votes put the Suning players at the top of the standings, causing fans to start claiming foul play.

Despite its success at Worlds, Suning is not a popular team in the LPL. In fact, the players on Suning are not considered stars and most Chinese fans wouldn’t vote for them. In the LPL, there are many players who are household names and who are popular not only domestically but overseas.

Suning clarified through Twitter that it didn’t manipulate the voting and thanked fans who chose its players.

Suning might be present in All-Stars after all

The voting process is still open and the Suning players are getting some good numbers. Top laner Chen "Bin" Ze-Bin is currently in the first place with 35.5% of the votes, followed by former World Champion Kang "TheShy" Seung-lok with 27.1%.

ADC Tang "huanfeng" Huan-Feng and Yu "JackeyLove" Wen-Bo from Top Esports are currently tied in first place with 37.2%. If both players end up tied, Riot Games might extend an invitation to both. The support spot is almost guaranteed to go to Hu "SwordArt" Shuo-Chieh. SwordArt currently holds first place with a remarkable 40.5% of the votes. The next closest player only has 14.4%.

In the jungle, Suning is losing but not by a lot. Jungler Lê "SofM" Quang Duy is in second place but only by a .5% difference. The mid laner of choice for the LPL fans is nome other than the charismatic Kim "Doinb" Tae-sang.
