As the competitive Valorant scene continues to take shape, many fans have been wondering if Team Liquid was going to join the fray before the Ignition Series started to heat up.

According to French website1pv.fr, Team Liquid has finally decided how to join the top organizations in Valorant esports. They are allegedly signing veteran Counter-Strike: Global Offensive player Adil “ScreaM” Benrlitom and four players from unsigned team fish123.

If this move is confirmed, it means that ScreaM would be leaving the CSGO scene after more than 10 years of professional play. Since 2013, ScreaM has played for VeryGames, Team Kinguim, Titan, G2, and Envy. Over that period of time, he’s earned the nickname “headshot machine.”

He was benched by GamerLegion in the fall of 2019. Recently, ScreaM has been streaming Valorant and has already shown himself to be one of the most skilled and mechanically sound players in the game after just three months of play.

Fish123 picked up by Team Liquid

Fish123 has been called one of the best Valorant squads in Europe after winning multiple major tournaments. James “Kryptix” Affleck, Travis “L1NK” Mendoza, Dom “soulcas” Sulcas, Adam “ec1s” Eccles, and Ardis “ardiis” Svarenieks have racked up more than $22,000 in prize money thus far, all despite the Valorant esports scene being quite young.

Team Liquid may have been moved by G2’s decision to sign ardiis. While many have speculated that fish123 isn’t as strong of a roster without him, they are still talented players who would only benefit from the addition of ScreaM.

North America already has a lineup of talented Valorant teams, including T1, 100 Thieves, and TSM. While fish123 has been dominating the European scene, it will be interesting to see them take on competitors on the other side of the pond. Only time will tell if Team Liquid will be able to compete with both regions’ heavy hitters.
