Latest Overwatch patch nerfs Brigitte and Doomfist
A new Overwatch patch is currently in development and is now available for testing on PTR servers. The patch includes a mixture of buffs and nerfs for various heroes, most notably for Doomfist and Brigitte.
Torbjorn, McCree and Bastion have all been buffed for 1.31, and developers at Blizzard are continuing to test Windows Spatial Audio support.
Doomfist has two adjustments that both act as nerfs to his combos. The first reduces the loss of control enemies experience when knocked into the air with Rising Uppercut, with the stunning effect only lasting 0.6 seconds instead of three. The second reduces the distance Doomfist can travel with his Seismic Slam ability, down to 15 meters from 20.
Brigitte’s Shield Bash will now be less effective at stunning enemies, as it will no longer travel through or stun targets hiding behind shields. This should make her a little easier to counter, and allow shield-based tanks to better protect their team against her.
Bastion has received two offensive buffs to counter just how easy it is to target him in both Sentry and Recon modes. Recon mode received an increased ammo clip, and Sentry now has a tighter firing spread.
McCree deals more damage, with the previously nerfed Fan the Hammer alternate fire giving 55 damage per shot instead of 45.
Torbjörn’s Molten Core damage per second has been increased, as developers felt that it wasn’t powerful enough to act as a crowd control ultimate. Instead of doing 130 points of damage per second when standing in lava pools, affected players will now receive 160 damage.
While the Windows 10 Spatial Audio setting was enabled during the last PTR update, there were some errors that caused players to lose sound entirely. This has now been resolved.
As the patch is only on the PTR server, it’s unavailable for console users. All changes made to heroes are for testing purposes and subject to further change before going live.
