LoL Patch 9.22 adds Senna, True Damage skins, nerfs power picks
League of Legends Patch 9.22 is loaded and ready to go.
Patch 9.22 is the final update before the end of the ranked season, currently scheduled for November 19. The most recent updates bring a new set of skins, changes to multiple champions, and the release of Senna.
New support champion Senna goes live
Senna the Redeemer is the newest champion in the League of Legends universe. Her release was announced through the 10 year celebration. Senna is the first support marksmen champion in the game. Her abilities were previously revealed and the champion has been available on the PBE for over a week now.
Senna will debut with new global music sensation True Damage. This new music group consists of Senna, Qiyana, Yasuo, Ekko, and Akali. Each champion will have True Damage skin and chromas. The group’s first performance will take place during the LoL World Championship grand final on November 10 in Paris.
Patch 9.22 to nerf Blitzcrank, Kai’Sa, Kayle, Xayah
Blitzcrank’s Q damage and the range were increased in previous updates, and those changes made him viable for competitive LoL and a strong pick in solo queue. Patch 9.22 targets the Q damage.
- Blitzcrank: Q - Rocket Grab, Base Damage 80/135/190/245/300 ⇒ 70/120/170/220/270
Kai’Sa and Xayah are the most picked bottom lanes champions at Worlds. Despite not having any outstanding stats, these champions are reliable and have good scaling. The nerf targets the late game for these champions.
- Kai’Sa: Q - Icathian Rain, Non-Minion Multi-Hit Missile Damage 30% ⇒ 25%
- Xayah: W - Deadly Plumage, Bonus Attack Speed 40/47.5/55/62.5/70% ⇒ 35/40/45/50/55%
The two most-banned champions at the World Champion are getting nerfed in Patch 9.22. Since his rework, Pantheon has proven to be too powerful. Riot Games targeted him in previous updates, but those changes weren’t enough. Pantheon is perma-banned at almost every level. The nerf will reduce his wave clear speed and consistent damage.
- Pantheon: Q - Comet Spear, Minion Damage Reduction 20% ⇒ 30%. Execute Threshold 25% of target's maximum health ⇒ 20% of the target's maximum health.
Kayle is another champion that proved to be too strong at a competitive level. Due to the changes in previous patches, the champion had a safe early game and a strong power spike at levels 11 and 16. The nerf targets the laning phase, making her less safe early in the game.
- Kayle: Q - Radiant Blast, Base Damage 70/115/160/205/250 ⇒ 60/100/140/180/220. W - Celestial Blessing, Cost 60/70/80/90/100 mana ⇒ 70/80/90/100/110 mana.
