Kingzone DragonX remains undefeated in the LCK after a convincing victory over SK Telecom T1.

Spring was all about SKT and Griffin, but the summer is for Kingzone. The team continues to lead the standings with three wins and zero losses.

Despite being considered a team of misfits, Kingzone was solid during the spring and are looking to be even stronger in the summer.

SKT started jungler Kang “Haru” Min-seung, and this would be the first roster adjustment of the season for the team.

In game one, Kingzone jungler Moon “Cuzz” Woo-chan didn’t hold back. He set up his laners for success and was ready to fight for objectives. Cuzz’s Sejuani counter jungled Haru’s Olaf. The early advantage allowed Kingzone to play the side lanes while SKT had to group in order to accomplish the bare minimum.

At 29 minutes Kingzone secured the baron, but it wasn’t enough to break the base. The squad decided to go for an ocean dragon and SKT took the opportunity to go for the mid lane inhibitor in response. Kingzone rushed to the base and aced SKT thanks to a four-man ultimate by Yoo “Naehyun” Nae-hyun. The win came seconds after that.

In game two, SKT was comfortable in the early game. Haru teamed up with Lee “Faker” Sang-hyeok to wreak havoc on the rift. SKT focused on tracking down Cuzz and neutralizing him. The strategy paid off and Kingzone looked a little lost without Cuzz spreading his influence around the map.

Desperate to close the game, Kingzone forced a baron only to get killed inside the pit by SKT. With four enemies off the map, SKT took game two.

At match point, Kingzone went back to a more proactive game plan. Support Park “TusiN” Jong-ik shined with a Tahm Kench pick. More than once, he outplayed the SKT squad and kept his teammates safe.

Kingzone grew a gold advantage and gained control of the map. At 23 minutes, SKT was behind and couldn’t contest the baron. Powered up by the baron buff, Kingzone destroyed the three SKT inhibitors. A couple of minutes later, Kingzone destroyed the nexus in the face of the remaining SKT members.

Both teams return to the rift on Saturday with Kingzone facing Afreeca Freecs and SKT going against Sandbox Gaming.
