Apex Legends has revealed new legend Wattson at E3 conference
Respawn Entertainment has finally revealed its newest legend, Wattson, for battle royale title Apex Legends.
Over the weekend, Wattson was officially announced at the EA Play showcase at E3. Fans now know her abilities and origin story, but won't be able to play her until Season 2 begins on July 2.
As her name suggests, Wattson's kit revolves around electrocuting her enemies. The new legend can place up to 12 nodes that form an electric barrier, guarding the area. This tactical ability comes in handy if you want to block an enemy's route, or just create obstacles for approaching opponnts.
Wattson can also launch an electric fence that blocks her team from incoming projectiles and missiles. This ability is even more effective when paired with her passive, which boosts the power of Ultimate Accelerants to the point where they instantly restore.
While this is the first time Wattson has been officially announced by Respawn, data miners have revealed her abilities and name a while ago. But the EA Play showcase reveal also introduced a backstory that's completely new for Apex Legends fans.
"I always knew you were special. But never did I fathom that the little girl that taught her stuffed animals multiplecation tables would grow up to master quantum laser mechanics," her father says in the video.
He goes on to call her the smartest woman in the frontier.
At the end of the video, Wattson states that she hopes her father, wherever he is, is cheering for her.
Wattson is the second new legend that Respawn has released following the game's launch.
