Understanding Echo Zelda fight and its strategies

Echo Zelda will be seen with glowing red eyes, and purple glowing body. This mini-boss has three phases, with each phase summoning increasingly aggressive Echoes. The key mechanics of the fight are are as follows:

  • Echo summoning
    • Echo Zelda has a unique ability to summon strong Echoes and minions to assist in battle.
    • The easiest counter to them is to summon an echo of your own.
  • Aerial disadvantage
    • Throughout the fight, Echo Zelda will float above the arena, making her hard to reach with melee attacks.
    • Using ranged attacks will be your primary method of dealing damage during this.
    • Be sure to prepare for this by levelling up the Bow of Might, or enhancing Zelda’s ranged abilities in Swordfighter form.
  • Transformation into Rift Orb
    • Occasionally, Echo Zelda will transform into a Rift Orb, rendering her invulnerable while floating around and summoning additional Echoes.
    • During this phase, focus on avoiding damage and clearing out the summoned Echoes before she reverts to her regular form.

Defeating Echo Zelda requires a little bit of strategies, since every phase ramps up the aggressiveness, but can be accomplished without much work. Since it spends most of the fight floating, it’s essential to rely on ranged attacks. Using the bow of Might at its maximum level allows for rapid damage output. Additionally, it is better to avoid charging your shots, and instead, fire quickly to take advantage of her brief moments of stillness.

Moreover, it is wise to stock up on potions and smoothies that restore Energy and Hearts before entering this battle. Echo Zelda can deal substantial damage, which is why staying topped up is critical. If you’re more of a sword user, then using Sword beam at full HP is the highest DPS output alongside Sword swings.

Summoning your own Echoes against Echo Zelda’s Echoes is key to succeeding. However, it is better to rely on Swordfighter form for damaging the impostor, and Echoes for minions. There are plenty of echoes to choose from, so the recommended echoes will vary. It is better to use Fire or Ice Wizzrobes for dealing with smaller enemy Echoes. However, in Phase 2 and 3, Boomerang Boarblins, Darknut Lv. 3, and Lizalfos Lv. 3 gets the job done effectively.

Rewards – What’s next?

  • Heart Container
    • As with most mini-boss fights in Zelda, you’ll gain a full Heart Container, giving Zelda one additional Heart. This is especially valuable as you prepare for the final dungeon.
  • Rescue Link
    • Defeating Echo Zelda allows Zelda to free Link from his crystalline prison, which progresses the story and unlocks the option to take on the final boss.

Before advancing, make sure to gather any remaining Heart Pieces or upgrades to give yourself the best chance against the final boss. Once you proceed, there’s no turning back.

By following these strategies, you can successfully defeat Echo Zelda and prepare for the final confrontation in Zelda: Echoes of Wisdom.
