Despite the team being just two months old, VP.Prodigy has claimed four tournament titles.
Virtus.pro’s academy team is dominating the CIS region. VP.Prodigy stomped its sister squad in the grand finals series of the Epic Prime League. The team of prodigies finished the tournament with an impressive 3-0 score.
Virtus.pro was pitted against its academy team in the upper bracket finals. The first game swung back and forth with neither team backing down. Vladimir "No[o]ne" Minenko dominated the game with an eccentric mid lane Nature’s Prophet. After 42 minutes, Virtus.pro finally closed the game to its favor.
The second game was a quick win for Virtus.Pro. The academy team tried to pull off another Riki carry but stumbled, while Virtus.pro played aggressively and claimed the throne in just 22 minutes.
VP.Prodigy dominated FlyToMoon in the lower bracket finals to rebound. In the grand final series, the team styled all over Virtus.pro.
The first game was rock solid Dota 2 from VP.Prodigy. Egor "epileptick1d" Grigorenko’s Morphling dominated the map and didn't die a single time. Virtus.pro was eager to come back stronger, but VP.Prodigy was ready for the onslaught.
The academy team opted for a Troll Warlord draft for epileptick1d. The hero was a perfect pick against VP's tanky draft. VP.Prodigy won the second map with a massive net worth advantage.
VP.Prodigy built enough momentum to finish the grand finals series on the third map. with Dmitry "DM" Dorokhin’s aggressive Axe initiations during team fights driving the team to victory. Virtus.pro missed some defensive opportunities and VP.Prodigy punished them for it.
After 42 minutes, VP.Prodigy sealed the deal and secured the championship title with a 3-0 sweep.
VP.Prodigy claims its third tournament title
VP.Prodigy’s hot winning streak continues. Its huge success in the Epic Prime League marked the fourth tournament title to its name.
The debut tournament of VP.Prodigy was a success as the team claimed first place in Parimatch League Season 2 Relegation. It was followed by two championship titles with wins in the StayHome Challenge and Gaming World. While those victories came against weaker competition, VP.Prodigy showed that it's a world-class team by taking second in the WePlay! Pushka League.
A strong case can be made that the Virtus.pro organization has the two strongest teams in the CIS region playing under its banner. It will be fun to see what VP.Prodigy is capable of once international competition resumes.
